My name is Kelsey Donovan, and I am the author of this blog! I am so happy to welcome you to Mental Health- Unfiltered.
With that being said, this blog will contain and discuss difficult topics, such as depression, anxiety, and panic attacks. I have every intention of putting a trigger warning at the beginning of each post. Please do not read the post if it makes you uncomfortable or triggers you in any way. I want you to be safe. I want this to feel like a safe space for you.
I will spare you the small, unnecessary details (for now…). The most important thing you need to know about me is that writing is my passion. Writing is how I communicate– everything has a meaning. Each word, each poem, each post means something to me. I hope that it will mean something to you, too.
Although I am young (a college student), I have already experienced so much in life, especially regarding trauma and mental illness. My main goal with this blog is simple: help people. I hope that by following this blog, you will feel seen, heard, and not-so alone. Mental health is such an important topic, and so many people do not understand it. They do not understand depression and anxiety. If you have ever heard the phrases “Just be happy” or “Don’t be nervous!”, then this blog is for you. I know it is not that easy. We can not just “be happy.”
Welcome to my mental health journey. I hope that we can heal together.
